Spring LEXI scarf and hat
We use Linked single (double) knit stitch
I have chained 200 + 2.
Yarn King Cole Forest Aran
Hook 4.5 mm
For this stitch we use any number of stitches in our foundation chain
Making the first linked stitch
We chain 2 (in addition to our foundation chain).
These 2 chains do count as 1 stitch but it is not a linked stitch.
Go in the third chain from the hook
And then again in the next chain
3 loops on the hook
Pull through all 3 loops
3 loops on the hook
we pull through all 3 loops
Second linked stitch and the rest in one row
We put our hook in the last loop of our previous stitch and the next chain space
3 loops on our hook
Pull through the 3 loops
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Our first row will look like this
We cut our yarn and start the next row from the same spot as the first row
We cut our yarn and start with a different colour without turning the work.
This stitch is one sided and is worked only witht he right side facing us.
Next row
This row is worked the same way as the first row
However, the placement of our hook is a bit different. Instead of the chain we put our hook through the back of the formed V shape on top of the row.
At the end of the second row we will see the pattern forming. We have created horizontal V Shapes that resemble the knit stitch in knitting.
The full glory of the stitch can be best seen if each row has different colour as it is the case with the Spring Lexi scarf and hat or part of the Angelina scarf.
